Flamenco Dance Intensive  16/17 February 2019 – Leeds

16/17 February, 2019 – Leeds.

Come and learn, improve or advance your skills in Flamenco – a seductive yet fiercely passionate dance from Spain through this unique opportunity of intensive training.

In keeping with our company ethos, everyone is welcome, whether you have never tried to swish a skirt or stamp the floor or for those “fan”atics already in love with fancy footwork!

Led exclusively by our friendly faculty of international guest professional dancers and teachers form Cordoba, Madrid, USA and Scotland – join us for a jam packed fun weekend of foot-stomping fun, rhythm and form.

This course is designed for complete beginners, improvers and advanced levels, fostering a warm and safe space to master your steps with others at the same level as you. Beginners can expect to gain an excellent foundation whilst those already dancing flamenco at improver and advance levels an opportunity to expand their skills appropriately.

In an exclusive learning environment over an intensive weekend, each group level can expect to focus on intricate footwork, understanding of the “compás” (rhythm) of complex “palos” (structures), new choreographies and learning of palmas (hand clapping), shawl technique, castanetes, posture, balance, footwork, arms, hands, turns and hip exercises.

Spaces are limited as our groups are kept small, allowing dedicated tutorial time to your specific level of learning and personal input from your teacher on your development with attention to facilitating faster improvement. All groups will have the opportunity to learn and dance with each one of our teachers during the intensive.

We have the absolute pleasure to boast a team of international performers, teachers and choreographers including:

Maria Vega, Rosa Cisneros, Leticia Cabezudo, Luisa Galan and Jen Wren.

All of our teachers are professional dancers AND professional teachers. Both are important because it means you get a Flamenco instructor with both the skill and passion to help you progress in your learning. All the tutor profiles will be our facebook events page which we will soon be sending out.

What you will need to bring:

We recommend that you bring flamenco shoes to protect your feet and help you learn effectively. Women are also encouraged to wear a flamenco skirt to learn how to use it but don’t worry if you are a complete beginner and don’t have any of these!
