Celebrating 15 Years!
7th July 2019
Slanjayvah Danza celebrates its 15 year anniversary. This is a massive milestone for the company and our Artistic Director Jen Wren and we have a few celebration events to let you know about.
Firstly, thank you to all our family, friends, funders, partners and collaborators for their confidence and continuous investment in the company and the work. Also the public and our audiences far and wide for all the support – because without you, what would be the point?
We continue to extend the reach of our work with on-going and new projects and partners. The company is consistently evolving as we listen to the changing landscape, our hearts and the people of the communities in which we work and visit.
Although we are not having a major masquerade ball or anything (though that’s not a bad idea), we will be celebrating in little bursts over the next 12 months with lots of ceilidhs and social events along the way. (Image: SJR Photography)
Celebration event 1: Preview time!
The first part of our celebrations include the launch of our long awaited and new signature work, 6 Feet, 3 Shoes. The work will preview at Kala Sangam on the 19th of July 2019. Watch and share our trailer.
Celebration event 2: We are going to the FRINGE!!!
Following our preview we will be heading straight up to Venue 22 – Dance Base – The Home of Dance – Edinburgh Fringe 2019 where we will Premier the work with 15 performances!
Each day between the 2nd and the 18th of August, (not Mondays) you can catch us at Dance Base at 4pm. This is our first ever Fringe run and we hope you will join us for some birthday and performance celebrations whilst in Edinburgh for the month.
Celebration event(s) 3: Touring autumn 2019
We will tour 6 Feet, 3 Shoes as a full evening of performance and social event in November 2019, in partnership with rural touring and inner city venues including:
Rural Arts (North Yorkshire),
Kirkgate arts (Cumbria)
Seven Arts (Leeds)
Tenants Hall (Leeds)
Pathhead Community Hall (Mid Lothian)
Annat Hall (Rait, Perthshire)
We do still have some autumn tour dates available and are now booking for 2020 so if you think you would like to see ‘6 Feet, 3 Shoes’ in your village hall, get in touch through email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
