Wrapping up 2023

Did anyone else think that 2023 zipped by?

Sometimes when one is in the middle of “things”, one doesn’t realise all that is being achieved.

It was a busy and fruitful year, albeit a little more behind the scenes than previous years with lots of ground work, organisational development and planning for our next 5 years. In and amongst which, there has been plenty of unseen artistic work, mainly research that compliments our plans and prepares us to move forward and launch new activities in 2024.  (More on that in early 2024).

So, looking back, what did we do?  (See individual news posts for more details)

  • Jen undertook periods of International travel, cpd, networking and relationship building in Ireland, Cape Breton and Spain.

  • We received research funding from Creative Scotland, Tasgadh, Dance Base and City Moves.

  • We worked with artists on research projects including  Frank McConnell, Kathleen MacInnes, Ivan Ramos, Adela Ramos, Jenny MacKenzie - on various artistic elements of Gaelic, Scottish and Spanish arts in respect to Jen’s practice and new future works.

  • Appointed new board members (you can read about them in our Who We Are section on the website)

  • Formed a new community focus group - info coming on our website

  • Moved into a new studio and home for the company in the wee village of Rait

  • Worked on development of a new website - you might be here right now!

  • Made a new 5 year plan, which we are excited to launch in the new year.

Anyway, we are looking forward to being back out there with you and getting active in the community again.

We hope you had a great 2023 and look forward to dancing with you again in 2024.
