Working with you and your community

An integral part of what we do at Slanjayvah Danza is to work with people of all ages and abilities in their own local communities, linking themes, dance, health, storytelling, social development and community learning.

We work practically, through dance: its relationship with music, percussive rhythm, counting, footwork, storytelling, theatre, language, film, history, culture, personal stories, folk songs and chants.

Our current programme, “6 Feet, 3 Shoes”, allows us to offer an extremely diverse range of workshops and experiences; exploring meeting points of people, celebrating mixtures of cultures, heritage and community spirit, breaking down barriers between ages, abilities and marginalised groups.

Led exclusive by our company performers, we can tailor make an experience specifically for your groups ages and abilities!

We currently have the following workshops available:

  • Creative Contemporary Dance
  • Flamenco
  • Irish dance
  • Scottish Step
  • Ceilidh dances
  • Sevillanas (folk dance of Spain)
  • Salsa/Latin American
  • Line Dancing
  • Contemporary Dance Technique
